This is an interesting verse. You look at this part and you are like, ok, He came saying His Father’s name that in Hebrew is Yahweh (YHWH) as I have done in another document named,
“Why do other gods have names?”
But if you look at the rest of the verse, it says something interesting…
John 5:43
“I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not:
If another shall come in his own name,
Him ye will receive.”
This opens it up a little more. He is saying that someone else will come in his OWN name and not in His Father’s name. Wait a minute… maybe He’s saying that He is coming IN His Father’s name. Like maybe HIS name has
His FATHER’S name IN His name!
Which means what? Well if the Father’s name is Yahweh, then part of this name is in the real name of the Son. What could His name be?
Well, He is the savior of the world, so maybe save is part of His name. And Yah is the abbreviated form of Yahweh, so maybe that is part of His name. So what does it show when it is combined? Yah Saves, or in Hebrew, Yahshua! It makes perfect sense! Yahweh loved us so much that He sent His Son, who is 1 with Him, to earth, to SAVE us from our sins! It is the gospel message in the name! HalleluYAH!!
Now we have another problem...
If we didn’t receive His real name, but another’s, does that mean that we are wrong on other things as well?! I have realized so. And if Jesus isn’t His real name, then where did it come from? But that is for another many discussions.
